 Corrosion Laboratory in Bangkok

The Corrosion platform in Bangkok, Thailand, responds in priority to the requirements of industrials in the oil and gas sector (operators, engineering companies and manufacturers) worldwide.

To respond to what requirements?

Their equipment (pipelines, tubing systems, pressure appliances, valves, storage containers, etc.) are likely to be subject to corrosion by hydrogen sulphide (H2S), present in hydrocarbons in very random proportions, depending on the projects concerned.

These corrosion tests under H2S determine the suitability for use of materials which will be used: they therefore present a crucial interest in order to guarantee the safety and sustainability of people and goods.

The carrying out of H2S tests also concerns industrials in the hydroelectric sector, where certain items of equipment, such as turbines, may be in contact with hydrogen sulphide, due to the rotting of vegetable matter.

Tests for resistance to Sulphide Stress Cracking (SSC) and Hydrogen Induced Cracking (HIC and SOHIC) in aqueous medium high in hydrogen sulphide (pure or mixture), in accordance with NACE TM 02-84, NACE TM 01-77 procedures or in agreement with specific procedures required.

The equipment is last generation, and meets international specifications recognised by the profession, as well as all international standards in the field of safety and protection of the environment, with in particular an integral treatment of gas.

The platform also combines all additional resources useful to the analysis of corrosion: metallographic examinations, non-destructive ultrasonic testing in tank.
