OBJECTIVES

At the end of the training course, the trainee will be capable of doing the following :

to understand the principle of usual welding processes

to list the typical defects linked to the welding processes

to understand the classification of materials

to understand how mechanical properties are obtained and checked

to select the appropriate joint preparation

to understand the requirements of inspection during fabrication

to understand the possibilities and limits of non destructive examination methods

Foremen and technicians, fabrication staff who require an understanding of the requirements specified in production of welded fabrications.

DURATION

3 days that is to say 21 hours.

GENERALITIES

The course provides the essential elements of welding processes technology, metallurgy, fabrication and examination methods to understand and apply fabrication specifications. It is a good precondition to get to detailed specific courses in welding metallurgy and weldability, inspection, non destructive testing.
