Today, Sylvain de Lescazes, President of Institut de Soudure Group and Liang Liu, President of GTEC chaired a technical day that centred on the theme of Franco-Chinese technological cooperation. Among those present were Zhen Huang, Managing Director, representative of the city of Shenzhen, Bertrand Furno, Consul General of France in Guangzhou, and Dominique Ochem, Nuclear Advisor to the French ambassador in China.

This day marks the start of the Institut de Soudure Shenzhen Technology (ISST), the joint venture between Institut de Soudure Group and GTEC, that was officially created on 4 December 2015.

ISST offers to Chinese industrialists and foreign companies operating in China a complete range of services, from testing to expertise through inspection and technical assistance. In the coming months ISST will also have a materials testing laboratory. ISST will develop its services primarily in the energy and transport sectors, which are very vibrant markets with a strong potential in China.

The event was the occasion to showcase the expertise of Institut de Soudure Group, on which ISST will rely to provide its skills and resources to industrialists. Through ISST, they will ensure the integrity of the equipment they manufacture, build, maintain or operate. The joint venture will also contribute to preserving the environment, staff safety as well as that of the facilities and will provide technical support as well as complete industrial solutions.

ISST and its shareholders are already studying the possibility of offering other services, in particular in the area of composites, in which Institut de Soudure Group has just made a major acquisition, or in training and research through links with ISST and Tsinghua University.

For Sylvain de Lescazes, "the start of ISST's operations in China is a key step in diversifying and expanding the Institut de Soudure Group internationally, a process that started many years ago. The vibrancy of the Chinese industrial market and its considerable testing and inspection needs offer attractive prospects for ISST's development and success."
