Present on 5 continents, Institut de Soudure Group is recognized for its more than 100 years of expertise, its technology, its capacity for innovation as well as its academic and vocational training.
As the French Industrial Technical Center for joining and associated testing, we provide services to the profession as a whole. We bring innovative solutions to companies during the design, manufacture or maintenance of equipment with safety, preservation of property and the environment as priorities.
In a demanding environment, the Group achieved a turnover of nearly €100 M in 2017. The conditions of the market remain difficult for our Oil & Gas business activities, pending the resumption of oil company investment that could accompany the recovery of crude oil prices. The Group is continuing the strategy of diversification it has been committed to since 2013, at the geographical and sectorial level, for example with the development of its activities in the nuclear or aeronautics fields. These two sectors had significant success in 2017, the nuclear field now accounting for nearly 15% of our turnover, while the aeronautics sector, supported by composite activities, represents 5% of turnover.
In addition to this diversification strategy which has contributed to the Group's growth and the diversification of its risks, the Group has also strengthened its other strategic priorities, research and innovation to remain at the forefront of technological progress, the development and marketing of new products, particularly in the areas of training, expertise, testing and advanced non-destructive testing (NDT). Finally, external growth through acquisitions and targeted partnerships also remains a strategic priority. On the 1st of April 2018, the Group took over Orys'metrological and nuclear NDT activities in order to expand its territorial network with two sites located near the nuclear power stations in the Center-Val de Loire, a French region where the Group wishes to become established in the nuclear sector.

In 2017, the Group was mobilised to adapt to changes in business lines and markets and to respond to developments related to the digital transformation. In this spirit, numerous partnerships have been developed and the Group is now an associate member of the French initiative Industry of the Future Alliance (IFA). In June 2019, it organises the second edition of the ICWAM congress in Metz, a leading international congress where one of the 3 themes addressed additive manufacturing.

In 2019, Institut de Soudure Group is more determined than ever to prepare for its future in the service of industry, with a constant concern for safety and quality. It will continue relying on a strong enterprise culture to offer excellence to its customers: quality, professionalism, innovation and responsiveness are the key values shared by all employees.
