Technical centre and R&D

Institut de Soudure is recognised by the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Industry as being the only technical welding, joining,  and associated testing centre in France.

Thus, under an agreement with the State and under its supervision, Institut de Soudure conducts numerous actions on behalf of the profession :

Development of standards in welding and in NDT, in partnership with Afnor and UNM, the Mechanical Standards Union. Read more.

Techno-watch actions and dissemination of knowledge through its documentation centre and its magazine: Soudage et Techniques Connexes (Welding and Associated Techniques). Read more.

In order to conduct its R&D work, the Technical Centre is supported by three Technological laboratories equipped with cutting edge facilities in Lorraine at Yutz, Goin and Saint-Avold Porcelette. These laboratories meet the industry's needs for innovation – major groups or small/medium businesses – in the form of services.
